Al Jefferson, the center for the Charlotte Hornets, will remain with the team for the upcoming 2015-2016 season for $13.5 million dollars. Jefferson will exercise his player option according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. Al Jefferson was banged up this past season and that led to a down year, but also with Kemba Walker emerging into a star it took the ball away from Big Al. This past year Jefferson played in 65 games while averaging 16.6 points per game and 8.4 rebounds a game. Al also averaged 1.3 blocks a game. In the 2013-2014 season Al averaged 21.8 points per game with 10.8 rebounds a game. He also had 1.1 blocks per game. His first season was clearly better. Also, Jefferson played 73 games in the 2013-2014 season. Overall, If Big Al is healthy his salary of $13.5 million bucks will be a bargain for the Hornets. Also, He would help lead the Hornets to the playoffs. Al going back to the Hornets makes sense because it is his last year on his deal and if he has a great season like he did in 2013-2014 he will land a mega deal from a team.
