The Mets top pitching prospect pitched today against the Reds and came out with his 1st MLB win! The lefty Matz went 7.2 innings of work and struck out 6 batters while only walking 3. Matz gave up 2 runs which were earned. The 2 runs were 2 solo shots by Brandon Phillips and Todd Frazier, who both are on a tear at the plate. Matz only allowed 5 hits and on the other hand Matz contributed to the offense today with getting 3 hits and those hits ended up giving Matz 4 RBIs! Matz is the only pitcher ever in the MLB to do it on their debut and is the first Met to ever to do so. Matz looked really good despite giving up 2 homers and Matz is going to be a key piece for many years to come for the Mets in the Big Apple !
