Celtics resigned Swedish forward Jonas Jerebko to a 2 year deal worth $10 mil, according to Sam Amick of USA Today. Not a bad signing to add quality depth to the bench. Jerebko is a stretch 4 forward who can land 3’s into the net with no problem.
The pelicans resigned centers Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca new contracts. Asik will reportedly get 5 years for $60 mil, according to Yahoo Sports and Ajinca will receive 4 years for $20.2 mil. Good moves to keep a heavy defense in the paint. Anthony Davis who was signed a day earlier, Asik and Ajinca now. Wow its a block party and you are all welcome to join. Pelicans will look to defend and try once again to lead the league in total block shots for the season. Just shoot 3’s, not worth driving in for.
Kyle Singler has found a home in Oklahoma City. He was traded last year to the Thunder and will now remain a Thunder. He landed a 5 year deal and $25 mil, according to Yahoo Sports. Singler Is a great bench piece that can come into the game and hit some 3’s and give you solid defense.
The Kings parted ways with forwards Carl Landry, Jason Thompson and guard Nik Stauskas, according to Yahoo Sports. They traded them to the 76ers to dump some money so they can potentially land Rajon Rondo and Wesley Matthews or maybe Monta Ellis and Rondo. The Kings have some flexibility now. The 76ers sent international prospects (not Darko Saric) to the Kings and took on all of Thompson’s and Landry’s salary. They did that because they really wanted Nik Stauskas. A future 1st round pick will most likely head to the 76ers.
According to Ramona Shelburne the Knicks have signed Arron Affalo to a 2 year deal for a total of $16 mil. His 2nd year is a player option. Affalo is a key player for any team he goes to, if it means he comes off the bench or starts. He can knock down 3’s or drive in and can play defense too. Affalo can be effective if he can stay healthy.
