Pistons Hand Mega Deal Out!

Tonight, the Motor City will look to keep the new model showcase car in town. The Pistons resigned restricted free agent Reggie Jackson (not Mr. October) to a 5 year deal worth $80 mil, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. With Reggie Jackson signing this deal you can say this is the end of the Brandon Jennings era. Jennings will most likely be traded. Reggie who was acquired last year in a trade produced really well for the Pistons in only 27 games played and he started all 27 of them. Reggie averaged in those 27 games for the Pistons 17.6 points per game and 9.2 assists a game, per Basketball-Reference. As I see people complain about the money Reggie just received, he is worth every penny because he will be a future all star and the money won’t look bad when the NBA gets the new television deal done soon. When the television deal gets done the salary cap will rise so high that players making $10 mil a year will look like its only $3 mil a season. So once it gets done these contracts will be worth nothing. It will be chump change.

Reggie owns a career average of 9.8 points per game and before he was traded to the Pistons he averaged 12.8 points per game with 4.3 assists a game with the Thunder, per Basketball-Reference. Can't wait to see what Reggie Jackson produces in a full season with the Pistons!
