Today, the Arizona Cardinals added veteran tight end Jermaine Gresham to a one year deal, according to Kyle Odegard. Gresham had a good career in Cincinnati with 2722 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns on 280 receptions, per Pro-Football-Reference.com. Gresham adds quality depth to the Cardinals, who aren’t very talented in the tight end department. Before, the Cards signed Gresham they have already Troy Niklas, Darren Fells, Ifeanyi Momah, and Mr. Irrelevant Gerald Christian. I predict after training camp and the preseason that Gresham, Niklas, and Christian will make the roster. The Cardinals tight ends last season turned in 50 receptions for 588 receiving yards with 1 receiving touchdown. Most of those yards came from John Carlson and Rob Housler and then backup Darren Fells got less than a 100 yards and same as Niklas, whose season ended early due to injuries and only accumulated 38 yards. Gresham last season alone had a better year than the Cardinals tight end corps. Gresham 62 receptions and had 460 yards with 5 touchdowns, according to Pro-Football-Reference.com.
