The Patriots this past off-season lost 2 very good corners to free agency. They lost top 3 corner Darrelle Revis to the rival Jets and top 25 corner in Brandon Browner to the Saints. Those two were tremendous for the Patriots last season and their fans are wondering who will they bring in to replace them. Well the Patriots have good quality corners on the roster. There will be more of a rotation until a player steps up and earns more reps than the other corners. Patriots have experience players like Bradley Fletcher, Tarell Brown, Derek Cox, Logan Ryan, Robert McClain and super bowl savior Malcolm Butler. Justin Green has a good shot of making the roster too. Dax Swanson and 7th round draft pick Darryl Roberts will both have to play their butts off in training camp and in the preseason games. If Roberts doesn’t make the roster he will most definitely make the practice squad. The Patriots starters for week 1 of the season should most likely be Tarell Brown on the outside and the winner out of Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan will play outside and the loser plays the slot. Robert McClain, Darryl Roberts, and Justin Green will rotate in and out for snaps. Brown had a solid year last season with the Raiders and previous seasons with the 49ers. Butler is the hero and Ryan is a 3rd round draft pick from 2 years ago who has lots of potential. Green is underrated and a sleeper on this defense and McClain is a 5 year vet who can make some noise for the Pats. Also, Roberts is a freakish rookie with solid potential as a 7th round pick from Marshall. The Pats will keep 6 corners on the roster. I personally just don’t see Derek Cox making the team due to his recent struggles the past 2 years in the league and Bradley Fletcher. Fletcher was ok in Philly, but at the same time he was bad. He was playing at a regular basis in Philly and was part of the worst secondary in the league (32nd overall). Fletcher will come up short in the race. So the corners that will make the team are Darryl Roberts, Tarell Brown, Logan Ryan, Robert McClain, Malcolm Butler, and Justin Green. One of the corner battles out of all teams to watch during training camp and the preseason.
