Today, the Eagles continue to lock up their own players like Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, Brent Celek, Fletcher Cox, and now Vinny Curry. Curry will receive a 5 year deal worth $47.25 mil. He will also receive $23 mil guaranteed along with a $10 mil signing bonus. The deal was reported by Ian Rapoport.
Curry had a great 2014 campaign, but struggled to record sacks in 2015 (3.5 sacks), but he did still applied tons of pressure on the opponents signal caller. Shockingly, Curry was graded 10th out of all the pass rushers in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
Finally, Curry has been a productive Eagle since entering the league. He has proven to be a worthy 2nd round draft choice back in 2012. The 27-year-old has a total of 16.5 career sacks. Now, expect Curry to record many more sacks and tackles in the backfield for a loss. Why? Because Curry fits the 4-3 scheme that will be led by new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and Pro Bowler Fletcher Cox.
Prediction: Curry will record 8 sacks in the 2016 campaign.
