Yesterday, the Toffees decided to spend some money to help their team make a late push in the season to finish in the top 5 of the league. Everton, currently stands in the 12th spot and are 8 points out of 5th place. 5th place is currently held by the struggling Manchester United club (37 points).

Furthermore, Everton spent £13.5m to land Senegal forward Oumar Niasse from the Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow. Oumar Niasse will be a Toffee for a reported four-and-a-half years! Niasse was named Russian Premier League’s player of 2015 season.

In addition, the 25-year-old scored 12 goals in 21 games for Lokomotiv this season and has also added 10 assists. He had helped this former club to third place in the league as of yesterday.

In fact, Niasse will help take the stress off of Lukaku’s back. Niasse will be the striker when Lukaku gets a day off, plus when they are both on the pitch at the same time, Niasse will play more of the winger position. This will be a deadly duo in the Premier League and help the Toffees in the future. Niasse is very excited and interested to join Everton as he said “I started to watch Everton more since the beginning of October because I had heard about their interest. I was interested to see how they play. If you see players who are aged 20 or 21 and see them perform like that, you know you have a good coach.”

Finally, Niasse is best know for his strength, pace, and high work rate. Niasse does not get tired easily and I personally think he will adjust to the Premier League quickly.

Note: Niasse was scouted in the first half of the season by Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Aston Villa, but Everton pulled the trigger and landed their guy.
