Orlando City Signs Nocerino

Earlier today, the mighty Orlando City Lions added a experienced international midfielder. That man is Antonio Nocerino. The Italian is coming over to the MLS after 5 years under the control of AC Milan. In the 2014 and 2015 season he was loaned to other Serie A teams and one English club.

Also, the Naples native is coming over after a saga between Orlando and D.C. United. D.C. United claimed him, but he did not wanted to go there, so this is how the deal was worked out. Orlando City sent an undisclosed amount of targeted allocation money and general allocation money to D.C. United.

Next, Nocerino is only 30 years old and has lots of gas in his tank due to the lack of playing time for two of the biggest teams in Italian soccer history (Juventus and AC Milan). Nocerino played more for Milan by capturing 74 appearances and scored 12 times. Ac Milan is where Kaka and Nocerino began a friendship. Kaka is the main reason why Nocerino wanted to play for Orlando.

In addition, Nocerino has only 12 international caps, but he will most likely not get back on there, but that is good for Orlando with some other midfielders going on international play and the Italian can spend more time here in the sunshine state.

Furthermore, he is an energetic player that can run for days with his everlasting engine. He plays lots of positions on the field as it could be in the defensive, box-to-box, outside, or attacking midfield spots. He is the perfect utility man that will allow Kaka to focus more on scoring than sitting back more. The duo of Nocerino and Kaka will be worth watching.

Finally, Orlando will be my sleeper team to make a deep playoff run this year. Look out for these Lions roaming the pitch.
