Today, the San Diego Chargers are replacing Manti Teo’s roster spot with Korey Toomer. Teo tore his Achilles against the Colts in the first quarter in week three. Toomer announced the next move in his career via Twitter by saying “Thanking god for all my opportunities that I’ve had this journey has been a wild one thank you Raiders and #Raidernation hello @Chargers.”
Now, Korey Toomer is a 28-year-old middle linebacker, who had appeared in ten games for the Raiders last season. In 2014, he saw his first NFL action with the Cowboys (one game) and the Rams (seven games). He only has seven career tackles.
In addition, expect Toomer to provide solid depth play on special teams and when his number is called to spell one of the other middle linebackers for some plays.
Finally, He will have to outperform rookie Joshua Perry for most of the snaps behind new promoted starter Jatavis Brown.
