Today, the Cleveland Browns lost 33-13 to the New England Patriots, which Tom Brady made his season debut after missing the first four with a suspension.
Now, entering this game, the Browns had rookie Cody Kessler starting with Charlie Whitehurst backing him up, and Terrelle Pryor as the third backup.
Early in the first half, Cody Kessler was pressured and tackled to the ground, but it did not look good for the USC product, as he was in tons of pain.
In addition, with Kessler looking like he will be out for a decent amount of time, and Whitehurst leaving the game as well, the Browns Should trade a late round pick to land the former first round pick. Buffalo have moved on from the FSU product after Tyrod Taylor and Cardale Jones were bought into Buffalo.
Furthermore, Manuel would not be the franchise quarterback for the Browns, but be a serviceable player that fits the bill. The Browns seem to like those short accuracy passing signal callers that throw the deep ball once in a while, and possesses the ability to run the football. Also, he will be more worth looking at over Whitehurst, as he is younger.
Finally, the 26-year-old quarterback has thrown 19 touchdowns for 3,381 yards in 23 games (16 starts). He owns a career completion percentage of 59.2. Lastly, he has ran the ball 88 times for 304 yards for four scores.
Note: Manuel’s fifth year option was declined before the season started and he will be a free agent after this season.
