The former 30th overall first-round draft pick of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft just had a career year that helped him land a $22.8 million dollar deal over the next six years in a Ducks uniform, according to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie. He will average just under four million dollars a season.
In addition, Getting Rackell under contract was huge, as he burst out of the scene last year by putting the puck in the back of the net 20 times, and also by recording 23 assists for a point total of 43 in 72 regular season games.
Also, prior till the 2015-2016 season, the 23-year-old Swedish centre had previous experience in the National Hockey League by appearing in 93 games. In those 93 games, he scored nine goals.
Finally, he is a key member of the young core that the Ducks are trying to retain, as they need to lock up Hampus Lindholm, who is still unsigned.
