Earlier today, the New Orleans Saints and Tony McDaniel reached a deal that is believed to be only one-year pact, according to his agency.
Now, McDaniel is a solid pickup. He is a very good experienced defender and he will provide solid play and experience to a young up and coming defense.
The 32-year-old defensive tackle will join a group including Sheldon Rankins, Tyeler Davidson, and David Onyemata. Nick Fairley is also on the team, but his future is up in the air with his health condition. If, Fairley is unable to play, expect the former Seahawk to step in and play in a pivotal role.
Finally, he is coming off the fourth 16-game season of his career, in which he started 11 contests, totaled 43 tackles and finished a respectable 52nd in performance among 127 qualified interior defensive linemen, according to PFF. He is a reliable player, which is a bonus.
