Earlier today, the Arizona Cardinals decided to keep their running back core intact by bringing back three-time Pro Bowler Chris Johnson on a one-year deal, per a source who spoke with ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter.
It was set to be the end of CJ2K in Arizona after they drafted T.J. Logan this year and feeling excited about Kerwynn Williams on taking on the full backup role to superstar David Johnson, but maybe a change of mind occur and this also keeps the competition interesting.
In addition, Chris Johnson has not been able to stay healthy, as this was his second straight year missing significant time. Prior to joining the Cardinals back in 2015, he only missed one game in his career. The wear and tear on the field has definetly catched up to him, despite showing a burst in his first year in Arizona by rushing for 814 yards and three scores on only 196 carries.
Finally, he only played in four games in 2016 and picked up 25 carries for 95 yards and one rushing touchdown.
