The Milwaukee Brewers pulled the trigger on a deal to acquire resurgence bullpen arm Anthony Swarzak from the Chicago White Sox for what is set to believe to be a prospect ranging inside the top 25 of the Brewers farm system, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
Swarzak will most likely be placed in the setup role and hold down the lead for breakout closer Corey Knebel.
In addition, Swarzak has had a career year for the south side White Sox. He has posted a 2.23 ERA in 48.1 innings of hard work. The righty has recorded 52 strikeouts and earned a 1.8 WAR this year.
Finally, if Swarzak continues his dominance in the bullpen, expect the Milwaukee Brewers to make a good run in the last months of the season.
