The Minnesota Wild and Nino Niederreiter agree to a lucrative deal that will keep the forward in Minnesota for the next five years for an amount sitting around $26.25MM, according to Michael Russo of the StarTribune. He will make an annual average of $5.25MM per season.
Also, the 24 year-old Swiss native is due for hefty raise after scoring 25 goals and dishing 32 assists in 82 games last season. This is Niederreiter’s third straight 20 goal season.
In addition, he has increased his point total every season since joining the Wild. He was acquired from the New York Islanders back in 2013. That change of scenery saved his career.
Finally, with Nino back in the fold, expect him to be highly depended on and his production will be held to a high standard.
