The San Antonio Spurs signed former Virginia standout point guard London Perrantes to a one-year deal that is partially guaranteed, per Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.
This gives the Spurs a chance to develop a kid that could be a good piece in the future, as he plays defense and knows how to run a system, which the Spurs run tons of plays in their offensive system.
In addition, Perrantes was not drafted in this past draft, but he caught on with the Miami Heat for the Summer League. He participated in six games for the Heat and averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game.
Lastly, Perrantes will most likely be playing on the Spurs’ G-League team, the Austin Spurs, as he will not beat out Tony Parker, Patty Mills, and 2016 first-round draft pick Dejounte Murray.
