Vadim Shipachyov will head back home to Russia after his contract is terminated, which will end his tenure as a Vegas Golden Knight after only three NHL games, where he scored one goal on a little over ten minutes of total ice time.
The news was reported by Eric Engels of Sportsnet.
Shipachyov did not take the demotion to the AHL kindly, as he skipped his debut game this past Saturday, which led to the team announcing a suspension for him.
Lastly, before he announced he was returning to Russia, he agent was talking to other teams to see if they were willing to trade for the left winger. One team that was rumored to be heavily interested was the Montreal Canadiens due to some problems over there and interest in the past for the Cherepovets native.
Note: The 30-year old winger was Vegas’ biggest signing, as he put the pen to paper for two years, $9MM.
