Today, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed one of their best offensive weapons in Cameron Brate.
Brate will receive a six-year deal worth $41MM with $18MM being fully guaranteed, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
Jameis Winston must be a happy man, as an argument can be made that Brate is his favorite target, as seen in games how he has so much trust in the hardworking Harvard product. Brate is Winston’s security blanket and most people would agree to that.
Now, retaining Brate makes sense due to the fact that he is a productive and reliable player on and off the gridiron, plus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers use a heavy two tight ends set in their offense.
Finally, Brate recorded 48 catches for 591 yards and six touchdowns last year that pushed his career totals to 129 receptions, 1,556 receiving yards, and 17 scores.
Note: I called Brate a hardworking player, as I remember him as a rookie and still to this date by staying after practice and staying extra hours in the film room working on his craft to try and become the best player he can be. He is a guy that everyone should be rooting for when it comes to receiving a nice payday.
