Earlier today, placekicker Chris Boswell decided to sign his second-round restricted free agent tender, according to Mark Kaboly of the Athletic.
Boswell will earn $2.9MM for this upcoming season.
The 27-year old kicker was one of the 14 players offered a second-round tender and the fifth one to actually sign on the dotted line.
In addition, Boswell had time to market himself as restricted free agents have until the 20th of April to work out offer sheets with other clubs. In reality, no team was going to give up their second-round pick for him.
Boswell is entering his fourth season as the Steelers kicker. In the first three years, he has converted 85 field goals out of 95 attempts for a solid 89.5%.
Lastly, in 2017, Boswell earned his first Pro Bowl berth after nailing 92.1% of his field goal attempts, including a perfect four-for-four from 50+ yards.
