The Jets were awarded kicker Nick Rose from the Los Angeles Chargers. Rose was dropped by L.A. on Friday and subjected to waivers.
It seems the Chargers plan on letting Caleb Sturgis and Roberto Aguayo fight it out in camp for the team’s kicking job.
Nick Rose filled in for the Washington Redskins last year while Dustin Hopkins was injured with a hip injury.
In 8 games with the Redskins, Rose connected on 10 of 11 field goal attempts (90.9%), plus he converted on 18 of his 20 extra point tries (90.0%).
After Hopkins came back from injury, he was cut by the Redskins and later signed with the Los Angeles Chargers.
In 2 games for Los Angeles, he made one field goal (out of three attempts) and made 5 extra points tries (out of six attempts).
Lastly, the Jets will have a kicking battle between Nick Rose and Cairo Santos.
