The Boston Bruins have found their defenseman, signing John Moore to a five-year, $13.75MM contract according to Frank Seravalli of TSN.
He is set to make an annual average value (AAV) of $2.75MM.
Moore had a solid year for the Devils. He is not a top offensive point producer from the blue line, but a solid one that gets the job done. The defender posted posted 18 points and was a plus-3 in a career-high 81 games.
In his eight-year career, the left-handed defender has played in 447 NHL games and tallied up 99 points (32 goals and 67 assists).
Looking at Moore’s career stats, it is safe to say he has found majority of his production coming from a Devils uniform (23 goals and 36 assists).
Finally, the 27-year old looks to be one of the Bruins main defenders for years to come and potentially Chara’s replacement, as he has improved tremendously in New Jersey and could learn more in Boston and be that guy in two to three years.
