Today, the Indianapolis Colts decided to extend interior lineman Mark Glowinski to a three-year deal worth $18MM, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.

The Colts claimed Glowinski near the end of the 2017 campaign and found a nice role in Indy. Glowinski is a versatile lineman that can play all three interior spots on the line.

Last year, he appeared in eleven games (nine starts) at right guard for the Colts and finished out as the No. 17 ranked guard in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus. He helped the Colts establish a solid run game and deadly passing attack.

In addition, the Colts’ offensive line enjoyed a major turnaround in 2018 and became one of the best ones in the 2018. The Colts offensive line allowed the fewest sacks in the league (18) and even went six straight games without allowing Andrew Luck to be put on his back, which was a major problem in the past.

Lastly, with the major turnaround that happened with the Colts’ offensive line, I was shocked that the Colts dumped offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo earlier in the month. Keeping Glowinski around should help a bit to keep things consistent in that group.
