The veteran outfielder is going to try playing for potentially one more year, if he makes the Miami Marlins 25-man roster out of spring training. Jon Heyman reports that Curtis Granderson can earn $1.75MM in the majors with $250K in possible incentives.

Granderson is set to become 38 in March. The veteran can still be a good option at the plate and in key situational at-bats. He will give the Marlins a nice left-handed swing off the bench in late innings and he can be inserted anywhere on the lineup and play all three outfield spots if asked to do so.

In addition, he ended the 2018 campaign with 403 plate appearances of .242/.351/.431 hitting, good for a 116 wRC+. Granderson played for both the Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers. The Grandy Man belted a total of 13 homers and drove in 38 RBIs.

Finally, Granderson will also give the youngsters more time in the minors to develop their game instead of being rushed to the MLB and crushing their spirit if things go south. Also, he will most likely join Lewis Brinson, Brian Anderson, and platoon with Austin Dean in left field.
