With the calendar turning into March, this is the time for NHL teams to reach out to junior and college free agents to try and sign them.
Now, entry-level contracts can now be signed that start next season, which is now happening with undrafted free agent Jimmy Huntington. The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed the center to a three-year entry-level deal.
Huntington is playing for the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL, on a line with potential 2020 first-overall pick Alexis Lafreniere.
In addition, during his time in the QMJHL, he has piled up so far 67 goals and 112 assists for 179 points in 284 regular season games. He also has a plus 32 on the ice. This season has really helped the left-handed shooting center showcase his talent as he has 38 goals to his stat sheet.
Finally, the Lightning continue to scout and find solid talent in the hockey world.
